Settling in at Super Stars

Our dedicated and enthusiastic team together with a carefully planned curriculum, encourages all children to develop to their full potential. We follow a child centred approach which ensures that each child is respected as an individual to develop their confidence. The settling in period usually takes place over three days however we can be flexible to suit your needs and the needs of your child. On your First settling session you will meet the staff in the room and have a brief discussion about your child. If your then happy to leave your child you can then go into our parents room and watch your child on a monitor in their rooms to see how they get on.

You can have as many settling session as you want until you feel comfortable with leaving your child. Super Stars Nursery aims to make each child’s start at nursery as comforting as possible. We understand that this can be a worrying time for parents when they have to leave their child for the very first time. Therefore, to help with the settling process, we offer individual programmes to suit the needs of you and your child. All we ask is that you complete a settling in programme, at least a week before your child starts nursery.

First Aid, Safeguarding and Policies

All of our qualified members of staff have been fully trained in Paediatric First Aid which is updated regularly. This ensures that there is always more than one member of staff on duty at any time, who is capable of dealing with medical emergencies, whilst being supported by other staff. At Super Stars Nursery all the staff take Safeguarding very seriously. We have a duty of care to help safeguard and protect the children against any suspected or actual significant harm. We will not hesitate to contact Children’s Services if we suspect any kind of abuse, or find any unexplained marks or injuries to a child. We have a comprehensive list of Safeguarding policies and procedures that we follow. Please take time when settling your child in to take a look at these policies. All our staff access regular training regarding safeguarding children. To help us to work in partnership with our parents, we have provided a notice board in the parents room, this has lots of information about Safeguarding yourself as an adult.
Super Stars Day Nursery has an extensive list of nursery policies which have been created by the Management & Staff of the nursery. This helps the staff to create ownership with the policies and to ensure that the nursery maintains high standards of care at all times. The policies are there to guide and support Staff, Children and Parents. If any parent has any comments or suggestions to make with regards to the nursery policies, then this would be most appreciated. We have a policy file located in Main Reception and the Parent’s Room, for anyone to read at all times.
